Qoo10, the No. 1 Singapore-based e-commerce platform and largest blogshop fashion marketplace in Singapore. recently held the inaugural Blogshop Heroines runway show on 27 June 2014 at the Butter Factory.
Showcasing and celebrating the best of blogshop fashion, we presented a lineup of 40 wardrobe staples and funky getups, ranging from eye-popping motifs and colourful geometrics to elegant florals on a backdrop of pastel palettes. More than 200 guests attended the vibrant event featuring outfits from five local blogshop labels (Label Dibs, Topazette, Glam & Mod, Flaunt.cc and Karl Rosenfield) and runway appearances by Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 1 alums, Kyla Tan and Rachel Erasmus. “Fashion is Qoo10’s most popular product category. Singapore isn’t usually associated with fashion but there is a thriving blogshop industry which has its fingers on the pulse of fashion trends and blossomed without much support. That’s why we came up with the Blogshop Heroines show, to celebrate how far these blogshop owners have come.”, said Hyun Wook Cho, Country Manager of Qoo10 Singapore. “Blogshop fashion is usually perceived as monotonous, executive fashion – all lace, florals and mono-coloured creations. With this fashion show, we wanted to present a versatile mix of sartorial options that offers something for everyone. Quite a lot of time was spent understanding each label’s essence and carefully curating the looks, to bring out the story and inspiration behind each blogshop’s apparel.“, said James Lin, Senior Public Relations Executive of Qoo10 Singapore. As part of the Blogshop Heroines campaign, we have created a dedicated landing page (http://www.Qoo10.sg/Glamazon) to house a special ‘Shop the Runway Look’ section, where you can buy the looks straight off the runway. From 27 June – 11 July, you can stand to win $100 credit by participating in the ‘Snap & Win’ social media contest. All you have to do is share your #OOTD with the hashtag #BlogshopHeroines on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to participate. 5 sets of $100 credit are up for grabs!

Country Manager of Qoo10 Singapore, Mr Cho Hyun Wook, shares about the e-commerce landscape in Singapore and potential opportunities for m-commerce to develop further here. Qoo10 Singapore recently donated 5,000 Fish 'n Chips meals to local charity Willing Hearts, a 100% volunteer-run, non-profit organisation set up to help provide for the needy in Singapore, regardless of race or creed. They operate a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 3,000 meals daily to the underprivileged, the needy, and other marginalized members along 42 distribution points including Jalan Tenteram, Serangoon and North Bridge Road. Spread out over 5 days from 24 - 28 March, 1,000 Fish 'n Chip meals were supplied each day to Willing Hearts for distribution to their beneficiaries. Besides providing the hearty meals, Qoo10 employee James was also on the ground to help deliver the food packets to beneficiaries living in Jalan Tenteram and Serangoon. "It was a truly eye-opening and meaningful experience for me - I was surprised by the number of underprivileged people who were recipients of the meals. The other volunteers were mainly Singaporeans from all walks of life who took time off from their jobs to help pack, cook or deliver food. It's really a worthy cause and I'm happy to have spent some time to help in whatever small way I could." Pictured above are the Willing Hearts beneficiaries living in Jalan Tenteram and Serangoon. We had a great time volunteering for the charity and if you would like to do so as well, you can click on their website link below to find out more.
